Leisure firm offers councils help to redevelop outdoor space

Golf and Leisure Experience (GLE) is offering help to councils to redevelop outdoor space into modern leisure facilities at zero cost.

The firm’s director Scott Cranfield is a professional golfer and motivational speaker who wants to help local authorities improve facilities for the public.

He said: “After establishing this model in the private sector, 3Fox introduced us to their local authority network and invited us along to networking events.

“We now have a football pitch project under way in Harrow and a community park project soon to start in Barking and Dagenham. When you have no budget but a desire to improve community facilities we really can help.”

Talking about dealing with post-lockdown Cranfield added: “We will be able to adjust quickly and in the case of our main site, that means we will be building the 3G pitch for Harrow next and have it ready to hand back to them hopefully by the end of the year.

“We are still operating but on reduced staff so we can follow safety procedures on site. I certainly miss sharing our exciting offer and speaking with local authority officers, often because they have been deployed to support in other areas. That said we are managing some meetings and presentations with the help of technology.”
