Proud to Care scheme assisting frontline workers

A RECRUITMENT DRIVE for social care workers by London Councils has attracted more than 800 applications within a week of launching in April.

The Proud to Care London scheme is looking for people to assist vulnerable residents, to ensure they are looked after during the pandemic. Most of the roles available are in the care sector, but there are also jobs in social work, occupational therapy, as well as chefs and cleaners.

“These new roles will provide much needed assistance to frontline workers already looking after vulnerable people in this difficult time,” said councillor Ray Puddifoot, London Councils’ executive member for health and care.
